Blackpool 1 Blackburn Rovers 2
One assist + One goal New recruit Brett Emerton marked his first match on home soil with a goal. The Aussie also assisted in Yorke's equaliser with a well taken corner.

Blackburn fell behind as early as 15 minutes when Blackpool striker Mike Sheron broke the offside trap and shot past Friedel. Dwight Yorke pull Rovers back to level terms with a diving header before Emerton scored the match winner.

Steven Reid makes an impressive debut for Rovers on both flanks, earning a penalty which Yorke blasted against the upright. Hope he can provide the pain-killers to ease the loss of Duff.

Slovakia Connection
Gresko work permit had been approved. If everything goes smoothly, the former Inter Milan and Parma man will offically be a Rovers' player on Friday. Meanwhile, Blackburn expressed interests in signing compartiot, striker Robert Vittek. Robert Who???
According to reports, he is Slovakian league's top scorer for last season, poping in 19 goals. If the deal goes through, let's hope he does better than Crabbi, and Ostenstad, and Davis. Just naming a few.

Reid of the Rovers
Blackburn completed it's 3rd major signing with the capture of Highly rated midfielder, Steven Reid. Rovers beat off competition from new premiership boys, Portsmouth, who tried in vain to hijack the move. Better luck on your relegation dog-fight next season, Pompey!
Meanwhile, out-of-favour striker Ciccio Grabbi could be on his way out of Ewood Park with a proposed move to Russian side Torpedo Moscow. Gaffer had been fined £10,000 by the FA for "improper conduct" but escaped a touchline ban. Souness was sent off in a Worthington Cup tie with Wigan last season for apparently "speaking too much". hmm, £10,000 would give BRFCsingapore a great boost. Rovers raised £30,000 for Oldham.
Oldham 2 - Blackburn 1
Blackburn Rovers pre-season games got off to a bad start again as they lost 2-1 to Oldham Athletic. Attended by 3,750 paying fans, Rovers managed to raise £30,000 for Oldham's Athletic Supporters' Trust.

Scorers: Paul Wheatcroft (20), Scott Vernon (54), Paul Gallagher (60)
Substitutes Not Used: Yelldell, Douglas, Watt, Fitzgerald

Rovers lose on penalties
D.C. United 1(6)- Blackburn Rovers 1(5)
Cole heads Rovers ahead
Old King Cole back to business

Rovers were beaten on penalties by US Major League side DC United in our first friendly in Washington. Andy Cole had put Rovers on course for victory with the opening goal in the 30th minute but United hit back to claim a 1-1 draw through Brian Carroll. Carroll's effort five minutes from time sent the game to a penalty shootout and it was the Americans who emerged victorious on sudden death after the seventh round of spot-kicks. Nissa Johansson's miss proved decisive after Dema Kovalenko had netted his penalty. New signings David Yelldell, Lorenzo Amorouso and Brett Emerton all featured in the friendly at RFK Stadium.

Stats :
Scorers : Carroll(85) , Cole(30)
Substitutes Not Used: None.
Booked : Taylor, Neill
Team : Brad Friedel (David Yelldell 75), Lorenzo Amoruso, Jay McEveley (Nills-Eric Johansson 46), Lucas Neill, Martin Taylor, Brett Emerton, David Thompson (Andy Todd 16/Injury), Neil Danns, Andy Cole (Paul Gallagher 46), Matt Jansen (Dean Saunders 71), Dwight Yorke (Egil Ostenstad 54).

Portsmouth to join Reid race
Newcomer Portsmouth could make a last minute hijack for Rover's target Irish internation Steven Reid. Rovers have agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £2.5 million with Millwall. Reid has also shown his interest in joining a Premiership team which will boast his chances in the international scene. Whether Reid will choose a team going to Europe this coming season or a team fighting for relegation remains to be seen.

Rovering for success!

Rovers have unveiled our 3 new summer signings (Brett Emerton, David Yelldell and Lorenzo Amoruso) at Ewood Park on Monday. Meanwhile Rovers are also expected to sign Vratislav Gresko soon on a permanent basis after agreeing a fee, reported to be £1.25million, with Parma. Also, if you have noticed in the picture above, the Rovers kits are now sponsored by HSA HealthCare. The home and away kits bearing the new sponsor's name are now available at RoverTheMoon.

Its time to choose Blackburn? Chelsea? or Man Utd?
Okay, and by now all Rovers fans should have heard of the £17million bid tabled by Chelsea for our Irish wizard, Damien Duff. It is a nervous waiting game for all Rovers fans. On one hand, all of us will surely want Duff to stay at Rovers but on the other, £17million for a player is indeed an awful lot of money to reject nowadays.

But now that Rovers have allowed Chelsea to speak to Duff, it will all depends on the man himself. What do you think? Let's cross our fingers.

Finally, Leicester City have just completed their 9th summer signing after Craig Hignett joined on a free transfer. The attacking midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Foxes. Most of us will surely remember his spectacular volley goal against Tottenham (Rovers won 4-0) on his last appearance for Rovers. All the best to you, Higgy! Brett Emerton
Time to switch to a Blue and White strip, Brett!

Blackburn have completed the signing of Feyenoord's Australia interational ace Brett Emerton for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a four-year contract and was granted a work permit yesterday. Graeme Souness's two-year chase for the Feyenoord ace reached a successful conclusion last night when Rovers officially unveiled him as our first major signing of the summer. So what do you think of this buy? Click here to share your view.

Its OFFICIAL! Local boy David Dunn is poised to leave Blackburn in a £5.5m switch to St Andrews. He has agreed to a four-year deal. It's certainly a move that most Rovers fans don't want to hear about, but it has became a reality. Want to have your say about this?

Also, read about Tony Parkes's life and his career at Ewood Park as he talks about the impact he has made as a player, coach and manager. AND he will reveal "Who Is The Worst Loser In Football"! You certainly don't want to miss it.

Meanwhile on the 28th June, 9 of our local Blackburn Rovers Community supporters came together at Marche Orchard to discuss about the plans we had in mind and what we wanted to see in the near future for this local Rovers community. It wasn't a huge turnout but at least we have finally made a headstart. So why wait? Come join this community and show your support for Blackburn Rovers Football Club!
